Components and Assembly
Jeep JK Models ranging from 2011 - 2018 all come with a factory bolt located in the center of the dash. Consumers remove and reuse this piece to mount the polycarbonate tray to it. Two 3M adhesives are also included for additional stability. Three slots are located in the back of the tray to snap in phone clamps or other 17mm ball socket compatible accessories. Goosenecks rest on the front of dash and are at a length of approximately 9" so the consumer can easily view and access their phones.

Design Aesthetic
The Jeep brand has a very rugged and geometric form language both on the interior and exterior of these particular Wrangler models. The overall shape of this product is intended to blend in with that environment. After several weeks of research, exploration through sketching, initial CAD modeling and prototyping, we landed on shape that we felt fit the target demographic.

Prototyping and Testing
During this phase I visited the local Jeep dealership several times and test fit early prototypes to ensure it worked well with all 2011-18 Jeep models. Various goosenecks of different length and wire gauge were also explored in terms of usability within the cabin space and structure of the tray itself.
