Prototyping & Evaluation

I made an initial mock-up to determine the overall length that would fit most people. I had several people ranging from 120 - 300lbs test this. As a result, it was decided that a length of 40 - 46" would be enough to fit most people around the waist and shoulders comfortably.

Temperature Testing-22.png

Temperature Testing

I constructed a foamcore mount to hold a temperature gauge in place while taking readings every 5 minutes. The maximum current passing between the positive and negative terminals of the heating pad were recorded. The readings were taken at the three heat settings at the maximum time. Item draws a maximum of 1.872 Amps at the highest temperature setting running off USB 2.1A adapter indicating that there is more headroom to increase temperature if needed.
